Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  How long will the climb take?
A:  The climb typically takes 14-18 days, depending on team fitness
and weather conditions on the mountain.

Q:  Do you use guides or porters?
A:  There are professional guiding service operating on Aconcagua, but
we will be operating as an independent private climbing team.  We will
have mules to carry our equipment to base camp, but the rest is up to
us.

Q:  How much equipment will you have?
A:  Each of us will have close to 100 pounds of gear and food.  See the
equipment list using the equipment link above.

Q:  Do you need oxygen at that altitude?
A:  Mountaineers don't typically rely on bottled oxygen for elevations
below about 26,000 feet, something you only find in the Himalayas.  To
allow our bodies time to adjust to the high altitude, we try not to ascend
the mountain much faster than an average of 1000 feet per day once
above the 10,000 foot level.
